Heading West

Taking the coast road towards Brighton, there are many fine sights to be found. On this day, with a blue sky and a reasonable temperature, I made the most of the white cliffs. Similar to the cliffs of Dover made famous by Vera Lynn, these are called The Seven Sisters because… Yeah, there are seven of them but, why ‘Sisters’?

  1. Lovely shots. I remember seeing the white cliffs of Dover as I was leaving England on a ferry. It was a powerful reminder of the song and also the soldiers leaving and returning to England during the wars. It is on my mind as it is Poppy Day here – our Remembrance Day.

    1. It is powerful how that song has made that view so symbolic. Strange (or not?), that we have different remembrance days. Ours is around November but I’m glad it is relevant to you at the moment.
