Fat Tuesday Umbrella Parade

Well, we do love to party – especially if we (they) can get dressed up for it.

A couple of years ago, Hastings added Mardi Gras to its list of annual celebrations – not just for one day – it lasts all week. The umbrella parade is a daytime event for which the children are encouraged to take part – as you can see, the adults love it 🙂

  1. I’m confused. I saw that first image and read the first sentence or two and thought: this must be Hasting in the USA, you wouldn’t catch the English doing this sort of thing for days on end! And then I saw the Debenhams sign and realized it must be that place up the coast from Brighton and Bexhill. When, in the year, does this take place?
